Modern Integration Technology Sdn Bhd (“MITEC”) is a Malaysia based company established since 1999 which has regional presence in South East Asia Countries, India, Saudi Arabia, and China. We are steel mill supply company who supplies niche raw material, consumables, services, and training to steel mill enterprises. Mitec owns its manufacturing facilities for refractory and graphite electrode antioxidation dipping.

The Group provides total refractory management (TRM), steel making and rolling mill production/ maintenance outsource, steel product development, cost benchmarking, machinery equipment revamping and turnkey project (EPCC).

We have professional trainers to provide basic steel training programme for orientation & mentoring to freshman, cost savings, energy savings and upskilling programme to production management and executives.

The group has a staff strength of 100 employees.

Our Team

Mr. Donahue Chong, Executive Director

Donahue possesses 20 years of industrial experience starting from Iron and Steel Mill Supply into the Digitalisation for Architecture, Engineering & Construction (AEC) Industry.

In Year 2019, He founded JV Company, BIMAGE Consulting (M) Sdn Bhd. The Company is specialised in the digitalisation solution using Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Virtual Design Construction (VDC) Technology. BIMAGE is AUTODESK Reseller Partner with 3 specialisations namely AEC, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) and Autodesk Innovyze Solution for Water & Hydraulic Industry. Following on the appointment as ESRI Reseller Partner in Year 2023, through the leadership of Donahue, BIMAGE becomes the FIRST and ONLY company in Malaysia who is appointed as Reseller partner of both ESRI and AUTODESK for GIS-BIM implementation.

Donahue had started his career in steel industry since year 2003. In Year 2011, Donahue founded MITEC and serves as Executive Director of MITEC Group of Companies who operates iron and steel making, rolling production, refractory management contracts and supplies of raw material, consumables, equipment and spare to steel mill companies. MITEC has offices and operations in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, India and Saudi Arabia.

In line with Malaysia Government’s goal to reduce the dependency of foreign workforce, MITEC, as the subject matter expert for Iron & Steel Industry, has developed training modules to re-training and upskilling of local workforce. To date, there are more than 1500 local workforce benefited from the programme.

Donahue graduated from Master Degree in mechanical engineering from Nanyang Technological University of Singapore.

Mr. Wayne Tan, Deputy CEO

Mr. Tan Chee Wei, also known as Wayne, graduated from a bachelor degree in Electronic Systems Engineering in UK. He was trained in motion and industrial automation in Germany to later provide his service in Asia region. He has vast experience in machine upgrading, modification, retrofit and revamping. Wayne has later spent his recent 10 years providing technical service in measurement & instrumentation for steel making plants. In parallel, he was also responsible for commodity trading and distribution of bulk material to steel plants and rolling mills in South East Asia countries. He joined Mitec Group of companies as General Manager since year 2011.
